Who Are We, and How Did We Get Here?
Moonlight Liquor embarked on its journey in the fall of 2007, opening its doors as the largest liquor store in Gardner, Kansas, located within the bustling Moonlight Commons Shopping Center. What started as a humble establishment, primarily known for its vast beer selection, has transformed into a beacon for fine wine and premium liquor enthusiasts.
Joe and Jamie Spinello, the visionaries behind Moonlight Liquor, have been instrumental in this transformation. They recognized early on that education and a genuine passion for the craft were the keys to diversification and growth. By hosting wine tastings and educational sessions, they expanded their customer base and fostered a community of knowledgeable and passionate drink enthusiasts.
Their efforts bore fruit, leading to the first expansion of the store from its original 3,600 square feet to a more spacious 5,400 square feet. This expansion was a testament to their commitment to providing a wide variety of choices and exceptional customer service.
But the Spinello family didn’t stop there. Their continuous drive for improvement and desire to cater to every customer’s needs led to another expansion. Today, Moonlight Liquor proudly stands as Gardner’s Liquor Superstore, encompassing more than 9,800 square feet. This expansion wasn’t just about size; it was about enhancing the shopping experience. Adding a new beer cave and extensive rows of wine and aisles of premium liquor featuring small-batch distillers, craft beer, and fine wines transformed Moonlight Liquor into a haven for lovers and casual drinkers alike. A new walk-in humidor was added for cigar lovers who want their stogies fresh, not from a convenience store.
